Example sentences for: cytoskeletal
How can you use “cytoskeletal” in a sentence? Here are some example sentences to help you improve your vocabulary:
Thyroid hormones including transthyretin are generally involved in neuronal proliferation and differentiation, and are required for normal cytoskeletal assembly.
7), it may be labeling the presynaptic membrane, consistent with reports of PKCβ localization to the presynaptic terminals of NMJs [ 22 23 ] . PKCβ initially associates with the cytoskeleton [ 50 ] . Phosphorylation at two places on the kinase core is required first to activate PKC, and second to release it from its cytoskeletal anchorage.
Indeed, cytoskeletal immobilization of p130cas and SOS was not prevented by the MEK1 inhibitor PD 98059.
Spectrin and protein 4.1 form a complex with actin filaments [ 17 26 ] that may be important in signaling in additional to forming a physical link between the cytoskeletal network and the cell membrane [ 27 ] . Furthermore, PI4K activity has been shown to associate with the actin cytoskeleton by biochemical detergent extraction [ 28 ] and is thought to specifically localize with α3β1 integrin [ 29 ] . PI4K catalyzes the production of phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate, an intermediate in multiple phosphatidylinositol signaling pathways which itself can interact with actin binding proteins to regulate microfilament polymerization [ 30 ] . Our work now suggests that the mRNAs of these proteins are all positioned in close association with the actin cytoskeleton to permit efficient localization of their protein products.
Binding involves a family of adhesins that interact with extracellular matrix components, and these adhesins have been termed microbial surface components recognizing adhesive matrix molecules (MSCRAMMs) [ 1 ] . Specific MSCRAMMs are responsible for localization of S. aureus to particular tissues, and include fibronectin-binding proteins (FnBPs) [ 2 3 ] , fibrinogen-binding proteins [ 4 5 6 ] , elastin-binding adhesin [ 7 ] collagen-binding adhesion [ 8 ] , and a broad-specificity adhesin (MAP) that facilitates low-affinity binding of S. aureus to several proteins, including osteopontin, collagen, bone sialoprotein, fibronectin, fibrinogen, and vitronectin [ 9 ] . S. aureus can utilize MSCRAMMs to adhere directly to cells or can attach to cells through the use of bridging ligands such as Hsp60 which has an affinity for both MSCRAMMs and the β 1 -integrin host cell receptor [ 10 11 ] . Interaction of S. aureus with host cells via MSCRAMMs can induce signal transduction, tyrosine kinase activity, and cytoskeletal rearrangement [ 12 ] .
