For computational efficiency reasons, alignments that still contained more than 600 sequences were further pruned; sequences not originating from SWISS-PROT were discarded, and sequences from certain mammals were excluded (mouse, rabbit, hamsters, goat, all primates except human), since mammals are likely to be oversampled in most Pfam families.
