Example sentences for: over-expression

How can you use “over-expression” in a sentence? Here are some example sentences to help you improve your vocabulary:

  • Cdc5 is required for full activation of the Dbf2-Mob1 protein kinase complex [ 15 16 17 ] , and has been proposed to impinge on the MEN both upstream and downstream of Tem1 [ 15 16 17 18 ] . During exit from mitosis, Cdc5 is required for Clb2 destruction, and similar to over-expression of Cdc14 [ 3 ] , induction of Cdc5 triggers precocious Clb2 degradation in pre-anaphase cells [ 19 20 ] . In addition to its role in exit from mitosis, Cdc5 has other functions during mitosis in budding yeast.

  • Over-expression of PDGFR has been reported in a variety of human tumors including glioma and glioblastoma, pancreatic and colonic cancers, breast, bone and ovarian tumors [ 11 ] . In normal cells, expression of PDGFR can be seen in the fibroblasts and the smooth muscle cells in the lung and airway [ 12 ] . There is so far to our knowledge no report to link the expression of PDGFR to lung cancer.

  • The left-hand panel lists the genes, the databases from which their identities were derived, and optional up- and down-arrows to indicate under- or over-expression; the middle panel shows a tree visualization of categories in the style of the AmiGO browser [ 1 ] and, in addition, provides a visualization of the flagged genes in the particular microarray experiment.

  • With a few L1 mutants and with other enzyme systems in the lab, single point mutations often result in depressed levels of over-expression [ 61 ] . In the case of the mutants described here, all of the mutants over-expressed at levels comparable to wild-type L1 (data not shown).

  • A partial cDNA clone homologous to AtCOP1 has been previously identified in mammals, containing all three conserved protein-protein interaction domains [ 20 ] . Remarkably, when expressed in plant cells, the mammalian COP1-reporter fusion protein exhibited a light-regulated nuclear localization pattern similar to AtCOP1 [ 20 ] . Although mammalian COP1 failed to rescue the Arabidopsis cop1 mutants, over-expression of the amino-terminal half of mammalian COP1 in Arabidopsis caused a dominant-negative phenotype, resembling the effect of over-expressing the corresponding fragment of AtCOP1 [ 20 21 ] .
