The diagnostic accuracy of PSA testing was further evaluated by examining different PSA cutpoints, by stratifying analyses into five age ranges (40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and ≥ 80 years), and by using age-specific PSA reference ranges [ 16 ] . We also looked at stratum-specific likelihood ratios and predictive values for the following PSA strata: < 2 ng/ml, ≥ 2 - 4 ng/ml, > 4 - 10 ng/ml, > 10 - 20 ng/ml, and > 20 ng/ml.
