Example sentences for: aberrant

How can you use “aberrant” in a sentence? Here are some example sentences to help you improve your vocabulary:

  • Once the aberrant finger-like projections were formed, no pseudopodial retraction was noted during this time period, and the cells became completely immobile.

  • The fools assume that the aberrant quiescence of the past 50 years is the norm.

  • Since S. pombe contains only three chromosome pairs, aberrant assortment during one or both of the meiotic divisions can produce, by chance, a significant fraction of meiotic products that receive at least one copy of each chromosome and are hence viable [ 38 43 ] . Aberrant segregation can also produce nullisomic aneuploids (missing one or more chromosomes), polysomic aneuploids (having additional copies of individual chromosomes), and diploids [ 38 39 44 ] . In S. pombe the haploids and diploids are viable, nullisomic aneuploids are inviable, and disomic aneuploids tend to lose the extra chromosome or chromosomes and become haploid [ 45 ] . We therefore determined the frequencies of spore viability and meiotic diploidy as genetic measures of chromosome segregation errors.

  • For example, the N-terminal 70 kDa region, the 1 sttype III repeat and the 10 thtype III repeat are thought to be important for the proper alignment of fibronectin molecules during matrix assembly [ 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 ] . We and others have shown that a recombinant protein representing a portion of the first type III repeat (protein III1-C) can affect fibronectin matrix assembly and cell growth [ 2 3 4 16 ] . Moreover, a mutant recombinant fibronectin molecule that is lacking the first seven type III repeats has been shown to lead to defective fibronectin matrix assembly in cell culture and in vivo, and to inhibition of cell proliferation [ 23 24 ] . Although the matrix produced with fibronectin lacking the first seven type III repeats was somewhat aberrant, this study does show that some matrix assembly can occur without the first type III repeat.

  • The phenotype induced by C3 mediated ribosylation of Rho in HPB-ALL could result from either aberrant retraction of recently formed pseudopods, or altered pseudopodial extension.
