How can you use “phrased” in a sentence? Here are some example sentences to help you improve your vocabulary:

  • I answered much the way I had answered more delicately phrased objections in Arkansas and north Louisiana: I told how, for example, a fisherman would be able to check the Dictionary if he caught a mudfish in Florida and wanted to find out what the real name of it was.

  • Establishment of the annotation rules included the development of a set of controlled comments, that is, comments that are reproducibly phrased and are consistently used.

  • I am not sure that I should have characterized the perpetuation of obsolete or archaic meanings as “counterproductive”: perhaps “wrong,” “misleading,” “ambiguous,” or “old-fashioned” would have been closer to the mark; phrased another way, I must agree that people ought to use words in their current senses if they expect to be understood.
