Example sentences for: pairing

How can you use “pairing” in a sentence? Here are some example sentences to help you improve your vocabulary:

  • More recent support for this upstream weak or non pairing with simultaneous downstream pairing, was observed in all lariat forming group II introns in barley chloroplasts [ 23 ] . Here 13/16 introns lacked Watson-Crick pairing above the branch-point A and G:C was the downstream base pair whenever there was an upstream A:C, A:G or G:G.

  • Antisense is a single strand of RNA or DNA, complementary to a target messenger RNA (mRNA) sequence; by pairing up with it, the antisense strand prevents translation of the mRNA (see Figure 2).

  • Calpain is an exception to the pairing rule.

  • The similarity between these two systems is further extended by the observation that the RecT/E system can complement mutations in the λ exo/Redβ system [ 10 12 ] . In eukaryotes, RAD52 protein has been shown to exhibit properties similar to those of RecT and Redβ proteins: it binds ssDNA and promotes strand exchange via the pairing of complementary single strands [ 6 13 ] . In vitro studies on quaternary structures have shown that the single strand annealing proteins (SSAPs), RecT, Redβ, ERF and RAD52, form similar helical super-structures [ 14 15 16 17 ] . This has led to the proposal that RecT, Redβ, ERF and the eukaryotic RAD52 function in an analogous fashion, and even are "structural homologs" [ 14 ] .

  • The third, named "bpseq," is a simple text format that contains the sequence, one nucleotide per line, its position number, and the position number of the pairing partner (or 0 if that nucleotide is unpaired in the covariation-based structure model).
