Example sentences for: microsatellite
How can you use “microsatellite” in a sentence? Here are some example sentences to help you improve your vocabulary:
Association of APC promoter methylation with MSI phonotype has been previously reported in endometrial cancer [ 45 ] . Although the significance of these results is currently unclear, we believe that inactivation of these genes by promoter methylation causes microsatellite instability and may contribute to the development of CC.
Microsatellite instability (MSI) is hallmark of mismatch repair-deficient cancers, which has been observed in all cancers arising from Hereditary Non-polyposis Colorectal Cancer (HNPCC) syndrome, some sporadic colorectal and other cancers [ 38 ] . MSI is generally associated with germ-line mutations in one of two MMR genes, hMLH1 and hMSH2 . Epigenetic inactivation of promoter hypermethylation of APC and HIC1 also results in MSI phenotype in sporadic colorectal cancers [ 39 40 ] . Accumulating evidence supports the view that promoter methylation of mismatch repair genes may be related to MSI phenotype [ 41 42 ] . A number of previous studies have shown the existence of MSI phenotype in CC [ 43 44 ] . In the present study, we found that MSI-H occurs at an increased frequency in tumors with HIC1 and APC promoter hypermethylation.
List of peanut microsatellite (PM) markers.
Microsatellites as DNA markers are advantageous over many other markers as they are highly polymorphic, highly abundant, co-dominant inheritance, analytical simple and readily transferable [ 1 ] . Microsatellites are reported to be more variable than RFLPs or RAPDs, and have been widely utilized in plant genomic studies [ 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 ] . The advantages of microsatellite over other types of genetic markers will become more important, and more obvious, when they are used to track desirable traits in large-scale breeding programs and as anchor points for map-based gene cloning strategies [ 10 ] .
Gene mapping studies using microsatellite markers have identified chromosome 13q32 as one of the putative loci for Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder [ 10 11 12 13 15 ] . To begin identification of a susceptibility gene for Bipolar disorder, we have screened two candidate genes, SLC15A1 and GPC5, on the basis of their genetic localization within the 10 cM region of chromosome 13q32 [ 14 ] . The entire SLC15A1 gene was represented in one BAC clone sequence AL357553 and GPC5 in 6 BAC clone sequences.
