Example sentences for: granulosa

How can you use “granulosa” in a sentence? Here are some example sentences to help you improve your vocabulary:

  • To this end, we treated primary cultures of GC and monolayers of the immortalized granulosa cell line PGC-2 [ 19 ] with the K +channel antagonist 4-aminopyridine (4-AP).

  • The inhibitory action of 4-AP on progesterone production was investigated further using not only primary cultures, but also the spontaneously established granulosa cell line, PGC-2 [ 19 ] . Although PGC-2 lack FSH receptors, these cells can serve as a useful in vitro model for GC function, because they produce cAMP in response to forskolin and synthesize progesterone and estradiol when supplied with appropriate substrates.

  • In support of this, BRCA1 expression has been shown to occur in the mouse ovary (granulosa and thecal cells of small and medium follicles) independent of hormonal status, and even in ovaries from estrogen receptor -/- deficient mice [ 41, 42].

  • In other words, selective pick up of CG through the surface LHR expression in granulosa lutein cells during the luteal phase after conception appears not to be required if the circulating CG is very high.

  • C/EBP is previously reported to be an important accessory factor for transactivation by several other transcription factors [ 26 ] . C/EBPβ was shown to transactivate the α1-acid glycoprotein gene promoter even when mutated in the DNA-binding domain, and this activation appeared to depend on protein-protein interaction with glucocorticoid receptor through the leucine zipper region [ 27 ] . Recently, a conserved domain in C/EBPα and C/EBPβ was shown to mediate cAMP responsiveness, strengthening the fact that C/EBP may be characterized as a cAMP-responsive nuclear regulator [ 28 29 ] . On the COX-2 promoter in granulosa cells, cAMP-mediated regulation was shown to be mediated primarily by an E-box that bind USF1 and USF2 isoforms in a manner resembling the RIIβ E-box in Sertoli cells [ 30 ] . Transactivation of the COX-2 gene in skin carcinoma cells is highly dependent on this E-box together with a C/EBP binding site that bind C/EBPβ and C/EBPδ [ 31 ] . These data strengthens a model of formation of a cAMP-responsive unit (CRU) containing USF and C/EBP.
