To identify further horizontal gene transfer candidates from the M. incognita EST clusters, the subset of clusters with homology to sequences in other Tylenchida and in non-nematodes but not in non- Tylenchida nematodes were examined.

These include: nemnoele (all nucleotide data from the phylum Nematoda with C. elegans removed); nemnoelenomi (nemnoele with M. incognita removed); nemnoelenomel (nemnoele with all Meloidogyne species removed); nemnoelenotyl (nemnoele with all Tylenchida species removed); yestylnomel (all Tylenchida species except Meloidogyne ); mj (only M. javanica sequences).
Twenty of these clusters showed conservation only to gene products from other Tylenchida species.
