In contrast, glycine-conjugated bile acids promote apoptosis in these cells [ 19 ] . Thus, different classes of conjugated bile acids stimulate distinctive responses in McNtcp cells.
The latter finding indicates that taurine-conjugated bile acids are capable of inducing apoptosis when PI3K is inhibited, probably by utilizing the same mechanism activated by glycine-conjugated bile acids.
