Example sentences for: subsequences

How can you use “subsequences” in a sentence? Here are some example sentences to help you improve your vocabulary:

  • Features are grouped, meaning that the separate local alignments of subsequences derived from the same source sequence (HSPs) are treated as a single composite feature, and likewise the distinct exons from a prediction are grouped together into a single feature (composite features are typically drawn as lines connecting the rectangles representing member features).

  • In this case, many members will consist of simple subsequences of the prototype.

  • For sequences that are very similar, the proper juxtapositioning or alignment of sequences can be achieved simply by aligning the obviously similar or identical subsequences with one another.

  • However, some of the new sequences contain subsequences that cannot be aligned with any of the previously aligned sequences, due to the excessive variation in these hypervariable regions.

  • Whether the algorithm is merging repeats that overlap (Figure 2c), or merging repeats separated by a gap (Figure 2b), the new merging repeats will always have the property that significant subsequences of the repeat appear at least twice in the genome sequence.
