The latter hypothesis predicts a reduction in mGluR cell surface expression or perhaps a change in surface distribution in the presence of Siah1a, such as occurs in the presence of Homer proteins [ 24 44 45 ] . To test whether Siah1a expression altered the surface expression of group I mGluRs, the surface distribution of mGluR5a-myc was examined in the absence and presence of Siah1a.
