Example sentences for: palindromic

How can you use “palindromic” in a sentence? Here are some example sentences to help you improve your vocabulary:

  • The smad7 gene contains a perfect palindromic Smad binding element (GTCTAGAC) while the pai-1 and the pthrp promoters harbor AGAC tandem repeats [ 19 33 ] which binds Smad proteins less efficiently [ 34 ] . The upa gene contains only an AP1-binding site which resembles the Smad3/4-responsive AGAC motif [ 35 ] . A weaker binding site could require Smad3 to be present at higher concentrations for efficient binding and would make TGFβ-dependent transcription from a gene more vulnerable to reduced nuclear accumulation of the Smad3 protein.

  • Published methods include enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus sequence-PCR (ERIC-PCR), and repetitive intergenic palindromic sequence-PCR (REP-PCR) [ 2 3 ] ; random amplified polymorphic DNA-PCR (RAPD-PCR) or arbitrary primed-PCR (AP-PCR) [ 4 5 ] ; and restriction fragment length polymorphism-PCR (RFLP-PCR) of the omp 2 locus [ 6 7 ] . ERIC-PCR and RAPD-PCR are both affected by assay conditions and environmental effects during the amplification process [ 8 9 10 ] . Although the results are highly reproducible within a laboratory, laboratory-to-laboratory reproducibility has been problematic and thus makes the universal application of these methods unlikely (compare [ 2 ] and [ 3 ] ). RFLP-PCR of the omp 2 locus is not constrained by issues of reproducibility and has been useful for the differentiation of Brucella species [ 6 ] and for differentiation among isolates from marine mammal hosts [ 7 ] . However, as a tool for the epidemiology of brucellosis in livestock, this technique is limited by the low rate of natural sequence divergence within the locus at the biovar level.

  • ' On a hunch, Rotcod wrote down that exclamation and saw that it too was palindromic.

  • To identify long-range palindromic structures, an RNA secondary structure algorithm in the program DNASIS version 2.0 was used.

  • For example a copy of GGTTT and its complement can form a sequence GG(N 5-6 )CC, fulfilling the minimal DNA binding requirement for the ZAS proteins other than a lack of the 5' guanine [ 25 ] . Similarly, the GT-rich RSS nonamer and the palindromic RSS heptamer can serve as binding sites of KRC.
