How can you use “côte” in a sentence? Here are some example sentences to help you improve your vocabulary:

Personally, I like to keep my friends and associates properly informed and up to date and do not hesitate to correct them when they refer to, for instance, “Ivory Coast” (it is now PC to say Côte d'Ivoire, even in English), or “Burma” (which is, of course, Myanmar, capital city Yangon, not “Rangoon”).

  • The Côte d’Azur and Corsica both have a distinctly Italian flavor, and the people on the northern slopes of the Pyrénées are not so very different from their Spanish cousins to the south.
