Example sentences for: datasets

How can you use “datasets” in a sentence? Here are some example sentences to help you improve your vocabulary:

  • Three S. cerevisiae expression datasets were examined individually, including the "Compendium" set, composed of expression profiles in response to 300 diverse mutations and chemical treatments [ 5 ] ; the "MAPK" set, composed of 56 conditions chosen to probe the behavior of MAPK signal transduction [ 6 ] ; and the "Cell Cycle" set, composed of 77 conditions relevant to the cell cycle [ 7 ] . Combinations of these datasets were also examined, for a total of five different sets that allowed us to compare the utility of data that probes specific biological processes, such as MAPK signaling or the cell cycle, and that which probes the state of the cell more broadly, such as the Compendium set and the combined sets.

  • Priors such as those above should result in smaller credible intervals and detection of increasingly significant differences because they curtail the exploration of unrealistically high variances that small datasets have too few observations to rule out 'on their own'.

  • The three datasets collected for each protocol were averaged and correlation coefficients calculated between the resulting composite datasets.

  • Most of the tools for microarray data analysis have been developed for use with expression data, but even simple manipulations such as normalization of the datasets are not necessarily appropriate in the case of genomic comparisons.

  • Replicate hybridizations in the datasets included independently generated complementary RNA (cRNA) preparations from the same starting total RNA.
